He’ll be once again playing with a supremely talented Kingdom Hoops Elite squad this spring and summer for his critical 17U season, and his recruitment — which has recently started — should see a considerable spike.

“Recruiting stuff has just started picking up after Christmas Break. I started getting some letters from D3s, and some D2s; University of Northwestern in Minnesota, Simpson, Grand View (NAIA),” said Elder.
“Recruiting is just starting for me, so I’m hoping it will all come together over time, but I’d really like to play college basketball and continue my career wherever it may be.”
Elder is also leading his team in assists, averaging 3.4 per game, and steals (2.7). He described his playing style to PHI.
“I’m more of a point guard and I think I shoot the ball well from the outside, and I see the court well. I think my passing is very strong, and I think I can get into the lane and make plays,” said Elder, who mentioned adding strength is a priority for him right now.
“I need to get stronger, physically stronger. I’m lifting three times a week just to add on as much weight as I can. Right now I’m 135 pounds, I’m trying to get to 150 by summer time.”
Elder has helped the Trojans to a 14-7 regular season record this season, and says his role on the team has been to set his teammates up for success, and to lead.
“Last year we had a lot of seniors on the team, and it was my first year playing varsity so my role wasn’t really that big. This year I’ve stepped into more of a leadership role, and a scoring role,” he said.
“In the first quarter I try to get everybody else involved, and then my points will come. When we need a bucket I’m the one that we run a lot of plays for, and I just try and go out there and help us get the win every night.”
