THE TEAMS YOU SHOULD WATCH: Blake, Magruder, Huntingtown, Great Mills
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH THEM: There’s lots of talent in this region. Blake comes in with one of the top seeds (there’s two in each region) thanks to a 15-7 record and an offense that features four players averaging in double figures. Kobe Colston (15.1 ppg) and Jack Tempchin (12.4) lead the way. The Bengals’ biggest problem is they stumbled to the finish line after a great start, splitting their final 12 games. Can they get rolling again heading into the playoffs? Magruder (12-10) played better at the end, winning five of its last seven led by David Garey (13.7) and Bryan Boehlert (12.2). Huntingtown got the other top sectional seed, posting an 18-4 record. The team took off after a 5-3 start and has held five opponents to under 40 points with a tough defense. The Easton brothers — Brandon (14.8) and Bryan (12.6) — pace the offense. Great Mills (14-7) doesn’t have as much overall talent on offense as the other three, with David Oliveras being the lone player averaging in double figures, scoring 14.4 points per game.
