The season returns to regular action starting Monday, Jan. 4. Several games Tuesday, Jan. 5 will be interesting matchups. Let’s get right to it as the season continues in January.

Walnut Hills (7-2) at Kings (5-4), Tuesday: This will be an interesting Eastern Cincinnati Conference matchup. Walnut Hills sits atop of the ECC standings with a 5-0 record and wants to remain undefeated. Watch for Kings junior guard Tyler Mitchell, who averages 13.8 points and 4.4 assists and Walnut Hills senior guard Adam Goines, who averages 10.5 points and 2.5 rebounds.
Oak Hills (7-2) at Lakota East (7-2), Tuesday: One of the premier matchups of the entire week in ultra-competitive Greater Miami Conference. Watch for Lakota East 2017 forward Evan Kuhlman, who had a career-high 28 points in a loss against Wilmington. He had 16 points in the first quarter against the undefeated Hurricane (9-0). Oak Hills is led by several players including junior guard Luke Rudy (15.7 ppg., 6.1 rpg.) and junior guard/forward Ryan Batte (13.9 ppg., 6.3 rpg.). This will be a physical game and be an excellent matchup of power forwards.
Middletown (2-5) at Mason (8-1), Tuesday: Mason is one of the premier teams in all of Southwest Ohio. The Comets have won eight consecutive games. Mason has received a variety of contributions including from junior forward Matt King (11.1 ppg., 6.8 rpg.), senior guard Kyle Lamotte (11.6 ppg.) and junior Eddie Puisis (12.9 ppg.). Middletown has lost five consecutive games after starting the season 2-0. The Middies have one of the premier post player in 2018 center E.J. Williams.
Cincinnati College Prep (6-2) at Gamble Montessori (record unavailble), Tuesday: One of the best games in the Ohio Valley Athletic League this week. Watch for Cincinnati College Prep 2019 guard De’Aris Dean (19.2 ppg.) and 2017 guard Kory Jackson (16.2 ppg., 6.6 apg., and 2.8 spg.).
Bethel-Tate (7-2) at Amelia (6-2), Tuesday: Bethel-Tate has won three consecutive games. Watch for 2017 forward Trenton Weeks (18.3 ppg.) and 2017 guard Tommy Bin gamon (15.4 ppg., 5.3 rpg.). Amelia has won six consecutive games, including a 63-57 win at Clark Montessori Dec. 30. Watch for 2017 forward Ryan Turner (11.9 ppg.) and 2017 forward Cage Meyer (10.5 ppg., 8.5 rpg.).
Carlisle (6-3) at Franklin (7-0), Tuesday: Franklin doesn’t have Luke Kennard anymore, but the young Wildcats have been on a tear nonethlesss. Watch for junior guard Will Kercher (12.9 ppg.) and sophomore guard Peyton Knott (10.7 ppg. and 4.9 apg.). Carlisle is led by 6-5 senior guard Daulton Butler, who averages 18.7 points and 10 rebounds. This should be an excellent game within the Southwestern Buckeye League.
