A quick 7-0 run to start the game, turned into a 36-23 halftime lead for the Mustangs, and that eventually gave way to a 59-41 final for PCM. The Mustangs led wire-to-wire, and never let the Comets get close.
We're 1:28 into the game, and PCM has jumped out to a 7-0 advantage – Comets promptly call timeout #iahsbkb

Logan Gilman – a 6-foot-3 Grand View commit – was unstoppable for the Mustangs (12-5), pouring in a game high 26 points, and scoring from anywhere on the court, including two 3s.

PCM Player Evaluations
2016 Logan Gilman, 6’3 SF
Gilman is one of the best inside-out players in the state, no question. Whether he’s an undersized post or a big guard, he’s able to put the ball in the hoop from anywhere on the floor. He’ll obviously have to play more on the perimeter in college – he’s committed to Grand View – and the two 3s he buried in the first half showcased his perimeter ability. He’s a very good player, and according to one local beat writer, the best player in the conference.
2017 Luke Grenier, 6’1 F
Grenier did a great job of playing within the flow of the game. He surveys the floor nicely when he has the ball, and never forces shots. He’s more of a threat inside than he is on the perimeter. A smart and effective player that could become the main guy next season.
2019 Andrew VanRyswyk, 6’2 G/F
He’s a sharpshooter, who should probably look to get more shots off. The freshman has good size, and has a frame that suggests perhaps he’s not yet done growing. His one 3-point attempt was a hit, and he’s got a good looking stroke and release. He’s a bit timid offensively still, too be expected from a freshman – definitely s prospect to keep an eye on.
North Polk Player Evaluations
2019 Caleb Lomica, 6’5 C
He’s a bit undersized for a college center, but man does he have some reach -a tremendous wing-span on a ever-developing frame. He’s a very dangerous shot-blocker – as evidenced by two separate stuffs of Gilman – and is already one of the state’s best defensive threats. His offensive game leaves a bit to be desired, but he’ll have all summer with the Iowa Barnstormers to develop that. A sure-fire top-25 2019 when we release rankings next month.
2016 Brett Haun, 5’11 G
A very good guard for the Comets, who could certainly be serviceable at the Division III level. He’s the chief ball-handler and leading scorer for North Polk, and is capable of dropping a dime on occasion too. Just a solid overall guard, who right now, is the best player on his team.
2016 Grant Rampton, 6’1 G
Easily one of the most impressive players on the floor tonight, not flashy, but effective. Rampton does a little bit of everything for the Comets, and he does it well; steals, blocks, shooting, he can do it. A gritty player, feisty on the defensive end, he’s the glue guy for this team.
