Sean Scott is quietly piecing together a nice senior season with the Trojans, and since hearing from Marietta (OH), and St. Vincent (PA) last year, he’s heard nothing from college recruiters.
“I haven’t heard much since the summer. I haven’t heard of anything,” said Scott, who is remaining optimistic.
“I feel like it’s going to come though, honestly. I think maybe because of my grades from my old school (McDonogh), they weren’t as good as my grades from St. Charles. They’re (grades) good now though, I’m on the Honor Roll. I have a 3.4 GPA.”
Scott is under the impression that the farther he can take his Spartans into the post-season, the more he and his teammates will gain the exposure they need to be recruited.
“I feel like the farther we go as a team, the more opportunities and doors will open,” he said. “So I’m just going to do what I have to do to help us get farther, and more people will see us.”
A 6-foot-4 wing, Scott considers his strength to be attacking the hoop, and his leadership.
“I’d say I’m a leader and I really like to help out my team, and I’m best at attacking the basket,” he said. “I’m always working on my defense, that’s something I’m working on right now.”
He’s averaging 11.5 points (55 FG%), 5.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game with St. Charles this season.
“They just need me to give it my all, pick up the team when we’re down, and basically just lead and do what I have to do to make this team successful,” said Scott. “I’m really just trying to get everyone involved, and trying to pass more – just be a better all-around player.”
