“The scary thing is we haven’t even played close to our best yet,” said Xavier Johnson, co-winner of last week’s Wisconsin Dells Player of the Week award along with teammate Vinnie Shahid. “The season’s going very well.”
“We know it’s a marathon, and things can change quickly, so we have to stay focused,” Shahid added.
Johnson and Shahid were co-candidates after they dropped 21 points each on Champlin Park in a monster win. As far as next year’s plans, Johnson just wants to play for a college program where he can contribute the most and develop into the best player he can be. Shahid holds two NSIC offers (Upper Iowa and U of Mary) and is also fielding heavy juco interest from Williston State.
