Player of the Week: Derek Krogmann
After a late surge of votes came in on Wednesday, West Delaware freshman Derek Krogmann took the top spot away from Justin Spieler – who had led all week – to earn Player of the Week honors.
A 6-foot-6 forward, Krogmann is currently a “2019 Watch List” nominee, and should find himself as a top-10 prospect in his class when the initial rankings are released next month.
He’s been having a great season since the start – 12.1 points, 9.1 rebounds per game – but he erupted last week in two games for the Hawks; averaging 22.5 points, 16.5 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks per game.
The Iowa Barnstormer product poured in a career high 26 points in an overtime to loss to Beckman Catholic last Tuesday – and added 17 rebounds, and 5 blocks for good measure.

He followed that up with another outstanding performance in a win over Central DeWitt on Friday; going for 19 points, 16 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
A big-bodied bruiser, Krogmann’s first ever varsity dunk was chronicled on Twitter earlier this month, see below. A one-handed smash.
