Nathan Bower-Malone, Stow: For the last two season, the 5-foot-11 senior guard has led Stow in scoring. Despite his smaller size, he can fill it up quick and is coming off of a season-high 26 points.
Jack Corrigan, Rocky River: The 6-foot-2 senior guard has topped 30 points in three different games this season. He’s also a standout defensive back and receiver for the football team.
Matt Davet, St. Ignatius: The 6-foot-6 junior big man has come on strong lately for St. Ignatius. He’s posted double-figures in scoring in his last four games, including 26 points against St. Vincent-St. Mary.
Tyrone Gibson, Beachwood: There’s talent over the Beachwood roster including a surefire D1 prospect (Maishe Dailey), but the team’s leading scorer is Gibson, a 6-foot-3 forward. He’s scored at least 19 points in all but two games this season.
Christian Guess, Glenville: The 6-foot-3 sophomore wing will probably wind up a D1 player at some point. He’s already regularly over 20 ppg for the Tarblooders and looks like the next great Cleveland city player.
Alfonse Hale, Maple Heights: The sophomore point guard leads his team in scoring and is coming off of a season-high 29 points against Mayfield. With youth on his side, he might end up a D1 player.
Bryce Harvey, Copley: One of the keys to Copley’s undefeated start has been senior guard Bryce Harvey. He leads the team in scoring and can nail down almost any open shot.
Jake Kuchta, Elyria Catholic: For two seasons now, Kuchta has been among the best scorers in Northeast Ohio. The 6-foot-2 senior guard is as tireless a worker as you would expect a coach’s son to be.
Alex Nahra, Mayfield: The 6-foot-5 senior is among the most unheralded scorers in the area. He’s scored at least 33 points in three separate games this season.
Brandon Peters, Warrensville Heights: Few seniors have gone more overlooked than Peters. The unsigned Tigers point guard strung together three-straight 30 point games earlier this season.
Lamont Rhodes, Bedford: A double-double machine, Rhodes is playing so well this season that he could even earn consideration for the area’s top player. It seems like Lake Erie College earned a real steal.
Luke Schaefer, Medina: Even though Michigan signee Jon Teske is on the team, Schaefer leads the team in scoring. The junior guard has scored at least 20 points in five games this season after not doing it once last season.
Tommy Schmock, St. Edward: The junior guard is a Findlay signee and is looking like a steal for his new school. After not playing much last season, Schmock has regularly been over 20 points in games this season.
Paris Villanueva, North Olmsted: On a team that includes Cleveland State signee Andy Lucien, it’s Villanueva that leads the Eagles in scoring. He could be playing his way into a college opportunity.
