After scoring the first bucket of the game, Champlin Park went on a 10-0 run to take a 10-2 lead. CBAL used an 8-0 run of their own to come back and tie the game at 10, but a 27-5 Champlin Park run to end the half eliminate any doubt about the outcome of the game. The Rebels took a 37-15 lead into the locker rooms and never looked back.
Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln (6-1) was led by Tony Bonner, with 15 points. TreVonte Jones added 14, all in the second half, and Kyle Crowl had 12. The Lynx shot just 34.7% from the floor as a team, and 16.7% (3-18) from behind the arc.
It was clearly not the result the Lynx wanted, but they had an opportunity to play in an NBA arena against one of the better teams in the Midwest – they’ll become a better team with this experience, and should still factor into the state tournament picture in Class 4A.
