Moeller defeated visiting Oak Hills 42-39 as the game was determined in the final 15 seconds on a missed 3-pointer. Junior 6-5 guard Keegan McDowell had 10 points to go along with four rebounds as the Crusaders (6-0) remained undefeated. Oak Hills was led by junior 6-5 guard Ryan Batte led all scorers with 16 points.
Let’s take a closer look at some other highlights from the Cincinnati and Dayton areas Tuesday night prior to the beginning of holiday tournaments:
-Elder senior 6-foot guard Frankie Hofmeyer had 18 points, four rebounds, two steals and an assist as the Panthers defeated visiting Hamilton 47-36. Elder remained undefeated at 7-0.
-Wilmington senior shooting guard and University of Cincinnati signee Jarron Cumberland had 36 points including two free throws with 3.2 seconds left in a 57-55 win over Covington Catholic (Ky.) Tuesday night, according to the Wilmington Journal.
-Senior 6-3 forward D.J. Somers had 20 points on 6 of 7 from the field and 8 of 8 from the free-throw line in a 54-48 win over visiting Valley View.
-Mason won its seventh consecutive game in a 75-44 win at Loveland. Junior 6-foot guard Eddie Puisis had a season-high and game-high 22 points for the Comets (7-1).
-Woodward senior 6-4 forward Mark Cruz had 21 points, 11 rebounds, four steals and two blocks and junior guard Will Coker had 21 points, five rebounds and three steals in the Bulldogs’ 90-37 win over Cincinnati College Prep.
-Tecumseh sophomore point guard Darius Quisenberry had 33 points, six rebounds and three assists in a 68-50 win over host Vandlia Butler.
-Lebanon 6-2 senior guard Chidon Jones had 24 points and 10 rebounds and senior 6-foot guard Kaleb Frankenburg had 22 points and six rebounds in the Warriors’ 59-52 win over visiting Greenville.
-La Salle 6-foot junior guard CJ Fleming had 17 points as the Lancers defeated McNicholas 71-33. La Salle remained undefeated at 4-0.
