Ronny Williams
5’9 – PG – 2017
Williams was really good against the tough Warren Central defense in this one. He had a few turnovers early in the game but settled in and made plays, especially in the third quarter that helped get the game back within reach. He was solid in the transition game and could handle the press along with playing defense against it and creating turnovers. Williams is a smaller guard, probably a shade under 5’9, but he can play at a lower level school and be an impact guy with some great speed in the open floor. – 24 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists
Greg Dixon
6’3 – SG – 2016
Dixon has tried to find a role for himself over the last year and it might be getting to figure it out. He’s a decent sized wing player who can be tough and physical against guards or forwards. He showed some of that today as he attacked the rim on cuts from the perimeter and feeds from his teammates. Has enough size and strength to finish through contact at the rim. Rebounds really well and can be a high volume guy on the boards in the right setting. – 9 points, 5 rebounds
Franklin Nunn
6’2 – SG – 2016
Nunn had a really stellar second half as he fought his way into the game again. He’s a great athlete that can jump out of the gym (40″+ vertical) but his flaw is his scoring ability. He can score in transition and in the halfcourt on short drives at the rim. Can create for himself in the open floor but he’s not a guy that is a shooter. He needs to add a little bit of that to his game but the second half was indicative of his ability to score in other ways. If he can continue that all season that would start to ease the concerns. – 16 points, 7 rebounds
Warren Central:
Trequan Spivey
6’1 – SG – 2016
Spivey is probably one of the more underrated players in the state in terms of scoring potential. He’s a solid off-ball guard who can shoot and score from all over the court. Has a great, strong body with some speed and enough athleticism to be a high-end player down the road. He can give you some rebounds and be a solid perimeter defender, too. Fits well at a NAIA/DII program. – 10 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists
Mack Smith
6’1 – SG – 2017
Smith had a very good game and was extremely active on the floor today. He’s still a guy without a position but he did more today than I’ve seen. He was with the ball in his hand more and was bringing it up the floor, getting the offense going in transition. His best is when he grabs a long rebound and gets going quick towards the other end. He’s got a lot of skill and it seems to be getting better. Probably ends up off the ball but has a chance to stay on it if everything breaks well. – 14 points, 7 rebounds
Bishop Smith
5’10 – PG – 2016
Smith was better earlier in the game helping Warren Central get out to a nice lead. In a faster paced game, Smith can disappear a bit. However, if you play a more slowed down, halfcourt style he can really thrive. He’s a little methodical and because he can create a bit on the perimeter he’s a guy that doesn’t need the open floor to make plays. This was a faster paced game and he was still able to put up points in a style that doesn’t fit him completely. – 10 points, 2 rebounds
