The North Dakota commit has helped Spirit Lake catch fire after a disappointing 2-2 start. In a 84-41 win over Bishop Garrigan last Monday he erupted for 32 points on 13-16 shooting, and was 3-5 from downtown. The 6-foot-3 point guard also added seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals for good measure.
2016 Seth Weiland, West Hancock
Normally when we’re discussing West Hancock it’s Nate Paulus and Connor Sonius catching headlines, this time it’s the man in paint. What was most impressive about Weiland’s performance last Tuesday night was his nine blocks. He was also supremely efficient offensively; scoring 22 points on 9-11 shooting, and 4-5 from downtown.
2016 Trystan Cummins, Ankeny
Cummins has been the glue for one of 4A’s deepest and most talented teams. He can do it all for the Hawks, and he was especially effective from beyond the arc in last Monday’s 69-38 drubbing of Urbandale, going 8-8 from deep, and scoring a season high 25 points.
2019 Jake Hilmer, Tuesday
We’ve already written extensively about the freshman phenom, and in a win last Tuesday night his early season heroics came to a boil. The 5-foot-10 Barnstormer product went for 23 points, on 8-11 shooting, while adding seven assists, and eight steals.
2019 Beau Cornwell, West Branch
In what was the highest single-game scoring effort of the season, Cornwell poured in 46 points in a win last Tuesday night over Mid-Prairie, Wellman. The 6-foot guard was 17-25 from the floor, 6-10 from downtown, and swiped six steals in the win. He also broke the single-game scoring record at West Branch.
