The Hawkeye commit broke loose for a season high 40 points in Spirit Lake’s 37 point win over Estherville Lincoln Central – no doubt a nice rebound after his team’s 30 point loss to Western Christian. Most impressive is the 6-foot-9 power forward was 18-21 from the floor. He also added eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
Bailey Arwine
Currently our 21st-ranked 2018, it may be time to take a closer look at this sensational sophomore. He’s averaging 19.3 points and 8.3 rebounds this season for the Lions, and his 41 point, 13 rebound performance last Thursday night was one for the ages. The intriguing 2018 added two steals and two blocks for good measure. We’ll try and learn more about the Lisbon star in the coming weeks.
Tony Bonner
Bonner is averaging a double-double this season for the Lynx, to the tune of 23.8 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. He poured in a season high 31 points on Thursday in a win over Bellevue West (NE), and he chipped in with 10 rebounds (his third straight double-double), and two steals to boot. Bonner has been magnificent all season.
Jordan Bohannon
Another Hawkeye commit, Bohannon has connected on 47 percent of his 3-point attempts this season, and his 9-11 performance en route to 40 points Friday night certainly helped. Considered by many the best shooter in the state, it’s hard to argue when he puts up numbers like that. The 6-foot- point guard was also 9-9 from the free-throw line, and snared nine rebounds in his team’s 91-55 win.
Austin Roetman
The Pocahontas Area mainstay could have easily been a candidate for Player of the Week after three monster games, and his performance Monday in a win over Carroll Kuemper was most impressive. the 6-foot-7 forward went for 31 points on 12-17 shooting, he was 3-3 from beyond-the-arc — a skill he’s he’s worked to improve – and also secured a double-double with his 10 rebounds. Roetman also found a way to sneak in five assists in the 86-79 win – Kuemper’s only loss this season.
