Greenville’s Clay Guillozet is the Southwest Ohio player of the week
Greenville 2016 guard Clay Guillozet is the Prep Hoops Network Southwest Ohio player of the week for the week ending Dec. 6.
Guillozet had 29 points, eight rebounds and two steals in a 58-56 overtime win over host Beavercreek in Greenville’s season opener Dec. 4.
He received 50 percent of the vote this week. Carlisle’s Daulton Butler was second with 35 percent.
Guillozet, who is listed at 6 feet 3, was 10 of 20 from the field and 6 of 11 from the free-throw line for a game-high 29 points.
Guillozet is the reigning Greater Western Ohio Conference North division player of the year. He averaged 22.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.2 steals last season as Greenville finished with an 18-5 record.
Guillozet played for King James AAU. He is ranked No. 31 on the list of Prep Hoops Ohio players in the 2016 class.
He is also a standout quarterback for Greenville and was named Division III second-team all-district. He threw for 1,100 yards and 12 touchdowns and rushed for 847 yards and six touchdowns this past season.
This season, Greenville is 1-0 and plays host to Troy tonight at 7:30. Greenville next plays at Vandalia Butler Dec. 18.
