Recruiting Report: Joey Coffaro (2017)

<p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Hersey 2017 point guard <strong>Joey Coffaro</strong> was the talk of the PrepHoopsIllinois Combine!  Coffaro was about in as much of a zone from three as you could be.  The 5’11” guard has an effortless shooting stroke with consistent mechanics and lift off the floor.  He was absolutely lethal from thee point territory in the catch and shoot.  Coffaro is more than just a plus shooter however.  He handles it well and is crafty getting in and out of traffic with the ball.  Plays with confidence and swagger.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">We caught up with the junior to discuss the event.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">“I have enjoyed it.  It is a lot fun.  You get a little bit of everything.  Some combine stuff and ended it out with some games.”</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">How would he breakdown the strengths of his game?</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">“I am point guard that can shoot the ball a little bit and get to the rim.  I like to get to the paint, hit the open man, and relocate.  Find my shot at all times and knock them down.”</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Coffaro ran with Chicago Lockdown on the travel team circuit this past spring and summer at the 16U level.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">“We were a pretty good team.  Better than we expected and looking forward to next year.”</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">What is going on with recruiting?</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">“I was down at the Wright State elite camp.  A little from Eckerd College in Florida.  I have talked to Colgate a little bit.”</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Sleeper prospect worth monitoring at the D2 level!</span></span></p>
