We are looking at the player that elevated their game and stepped up when it mattered most taking both themselves and their teams to the next level.
Hoopers Basketball Club made a name for themselves on the circuit with a team based mostly of 2017 prospects playing up on the 17U level. A major reason for their success was the play of Bolingbrook wing Nana Akenten. The 6’6” small forward earns our award for the Hoopers Basketball Club program MVP for the summer.
Akenten exploded on the scene with his combination of size, athleticism, and explosiveness. He attacks the hoop with a quick first step and finishes above the rim with big time hops. The jump shot shows potential with elevation off the floor. When Akenten played well he took his team to new heights. Look for big things to come out of Akenten this high school season and again next summer on the circuit!
