SubscribeThe class of 2016 has seen some lower level prospects go off the board early and the latest to join that group is Silver Creek forward Christian Reed.
The 6'5 forward was looking to find something to fit his academic background and he was able to do that when he committed to Lawrence Tech out of Michigan this past weekend. Reed was looking to major in mechanical engineering and that was something LT had.
“What got me from the start was how dedicated the staff was and the prowess of the engineering program,” Reed said of Lawrence Tech. “When I was able to see first person, the environment and the people I would be spending four years with, it seemed to be an easy decision for me.”
At the end, Lawrence Tech was able to beat out Wabash, University of Michigan-Dearborn, and Anderson University.
Reed is a big bodied forward who can play anywhere inside the three-point line. He moves very well for his size and can drive from 15' using his body and strength or play tough on the boards to get the lay-in. At the next level he will be more of a post forward but brings some versatility with his mobility which should allow him to defend out on the wing in some matchups.
