“I’m in California right now,” Kirksey said. “I’m with family and I’m visiting schools like Cal Poly, San Francisco, Stanford and UCLA. Cal Poly and USF are basketball possibilities, as is Stanford (as a walk-on). I like the fact that most of the schools out here have very strong science programs, as well as the fact that I have plenty of family out here.”
As far as midwestern programs, Kirksey reported that NDSU, USD, UNI, MSU-Moorhead and Winona State were all recruiting him, and that he would definitely consider a midwestern school. But he placed special emphasis on studying science after high school.
“I like to experiment with stuff and see what makes what and solve problems,” Kirksey said. “I think that's why I like science so much. I'm trying to find a school that believes in basketball and athletics and will push me to be successful in my future.”
Kirksey currently holds no offers and will enter his senior year as a starting piece on Apple Valley’s defending Class AAAA champion squad.
