Bishop McNamara forward Darian Dixon seems on the verge of picking up his first offer.
He has one Division I school which seems particularly interested, and a bundle of other D1 and Division II programs showing interest.
“I have no offers yet, but I have interest from Quinnipiac, Mount St. Mary’s, UMBC, Towson, Winthrop and then Mount Olive and Shepherd,” said Dixon, who’s taken one unofficial visit — to Quinnipiac.
“I would say Quinnipiac is pursuing me the most, they talk to me a bunch. I took a visit to Quinnipiac, that was last year during the live period, and that was good I liked it. It was different because it was up in the mountains, so it was nice,” said Dixon. “I’d also like to visit Mount St. Mary’s later on, and I want to visit Towson.”
The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 10 points and 8 rebounds per game last season with the Mustangs, and says he’s able to play either forward spot.
“I’m a real good rebounder, I can offensive rebound real well, and I like dunking, when I get the ball I can dunk real easily and finish through contact,” said Dixon.
“I’m trying to improve on just getting stronger because I’m playing against bigger people now, so I’m going to have to use my speed, and it will really help me to get stronger.”
After spending his spring with DC Bluedevils, he’ll be spending his July splitting time with Bump ‘N Run and DC Thunder for the ever-important live periods.
“I want to get at least three offers, just so I can have a choice when it comes down to it, and I don’t want to stress about not having any offers,” said Dixon. “Also I want to win, that’s always important too.”
