Facing quality athletes Carter took a board, weaved through the defense going wide and then attacked turning the corner to get the angle to kiss off the glass. Athletic finish against D1 athletes…His rebound, turn, and push gets more dangerous with each game…His work on the o-glass is high quality. Always runs rim and his bounce is difficult to deal with especially in a world where three-men boxing out is a 50 percent chance of occurring…Carter hit a one dribble contested pull-up from just inside the arc in nearly unguardable fashion. The type of move that makes a guy put his fingers to his chin and think “that’s a D1 move”…
Braxton Raymond. For whatever reason teams in Vegas don’t contest Braxton hard enough when he enters and then he gets an early look and you know chances are good he sinks the attempt at the arc…Favorite Braxton sore was a standing rebound over an out of position small and then shooting quickly off the glass before the next guy contested. Quick and a bit sly…Love the fight he has at all times…
Sam Sustacek. Understands back side help and works to get to that help rapidly. Very good position defender…In the rebound scrum several times early and he came away with the better result each time…So comfortable handling the ball against some ball pressure on the perimeter. Makes him more versatile, a true four man…His box-out hit is made with a strong hit and then a good shield while he collects…Key three point play gathering his own miss, taking a hit, finishing when Select had lost their lead and needed some momentum…
Charlie Irmger. Makes a fantastic post move inside, a move he wouldn’t have made six months ago, and get to the foul line. The next step is finishing with the left hand shielding from his opponent and that is something he is working because when he gets it the post moves he’s making will be more deadly, more complete. Whatever hand on whatever side, Charlie is a load to deal with so he gets to the line often where he is a very good free throw shooter…Charlie turned into his man with the left shoulder and made a beautiful right hand seven-foot hook…IEBP wanted nothing to do with attacking his shot blocking threat late in the game. Also late Charlie ran ahead of the scrambling defense to catch and throw down to put Select up a dozen..
Elijah Hannah. Sprinted back on defense and took a charge…Handling against annoyance and has done fine…Strong guard, is able to shield ball pressure from trying to sneak into his space of handle..
David Lindstrand. Crashed hard for two huge offensive rebounds late when his guy didn’t box him out. Both possessions became baskets that Select had to have…Had a fantastic attack and dump late in the game after beating his man on a ball reversal…
Jack Stensgard. One of the best “extra pass” guys out there. Jack knows how to give up an okay shot of his own for a better shot for his teammates…Head is always up and ready to survey the court. Dependable in all ways: being vocal, making sure what is to be executed is, makes hits, in the right defensive spot, etc…Very good rebounding guard…Caught on a reversal and attacked to finish in what was the score that sealed the game for Select…
Martez Rodgers. Continually cutting off the transition attacking angle forcing bad shots or stoppage of possession…Late in the game his value of the possession lead to some sprinting to open areas to waste time and nobody could catch him…
