One of the more intriguing long-term wings in the entire state, Simmons oozes potential. A rangy and athletic slasher, he’s able to put up big numbers when everything is working for him. This AAU season will be an interesting one.

Simmons put up a near triple-double against Passaic Tech with his stat line being 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists. Simmons dominated in all areas of the court keeping his team in full control over a close 44-46 win. He got into the paint and forced the referees to call the foul when going up to the rim. He controlled the midrange game and looked to dish it out to open shooters on the wing or baseline cutters going to the rim. Simmons’s defense was also a major factor as to how Paterson Kennedy won with him getting 2 steals and 2 blocks having himself just an all-around spectacular game.

Simmons is an electric scorer who can do pretty much anything on the offensive end of the court. His quickness and elite athleticism are what make him a tough guard as he can simply blow by most defenders, especially with his handles. He works the midrange game well and can hit some tough pull-up jump shots. He attacks the rim with force and likes to seek contact to force referees to call the foul. Simmons can sky in for rebounds and can box out taller and stronger players.

Simmons has done a little bit of everything for the Knights as he has recorded a double-double in almost every game this season, including a triple-double against Barringer. The 6’5 wing excels at getting to the rim where he explodes off the floor for dunks and can finish through contact. Simmons plays with good floor vision as he finds his open teammates in the half court and rarely makes bad decisions with the ball in his hands. He skies for rebounds on both ends of the floor and is a play-maker on the defensive end. Simmons’ versatility makes him a prospect to watch in Group 4 for Paterson Kennedy.
