About Zion

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

3’s and D, quick passes

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a dive in the floor type of player, and have been playing like that since 7th grade. My personality is very outgoing.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

No

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed leadership from AAU, and how to play my role from varsity last year. I know how to play as the star and a role player.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Playing varsity was a freshman was very challenging, everytime I touched the ball I was nervous and always looking to give it up. But, getting that experience in early helped me shake off the nerves for my sophomore season.

What type of college are you looking for?

My goal is to go D1 at some point, rather it’s straight from high school, or JUCO first.

One of, if not the best shooters at Saturday’s event, Zion Cook-Berns Zion Cook-Berns 6'0" | PG Waterloo East | 2027 State IA lit it up from deep almost any change he got.

Listed as a point guard, Cook-Berns may need to lobby to get that changed to shooting guard, as he looked automatic from three in Des Moines. With a quick release and looking to launch basically any time he got a touch, Cook-Berns shot just under 32% from three last season for Waterloo West, but he’s clearly been working on his jumper this offseason. Look for him to be among the leading scorers again for the WaHawks this winter.
