Among the more talented scoring guards across the state, Washington recently crossed the 1,000-point plateau for his career and has Warwick positioned as the 9th seed heading into the district bracket. Averaging over 16 points per game, he’s a slithery attacker off the bounce with a smooth handle and herky-jerky pace as a slasher from the wing. Washington is a dangerous shooter from the arc despite an unorthodox stroke and shows buy-in on the other end while using his length to make an impact on D. He’s a D1 talent with upside as he adds strength and experience, standing out as someone who could really benefit from a year of prep school.

One of the more dynamic offensive talents in the state, Washington should be a difficult matchup to contain for Lancaster-Lebanon competition. With standout length and fluid athleticism, the smooth guard is a natural three-level scorer with soft touch as a shotmaker from the midrange or perimeter and a deceptive cadence to his handle that enables him to work his way downhill and pressure the rim. He shows budding feel as an on-ball playmaker with a steely toughness while often taking on the most difficult perimeter assignment on the other end of the floor. Having drawn some sniffs from the D1 level with his play this summer on the MADE Hoops circuit, Washington will be monitored closely all winter by programs on either side of the D1 bubble, while also having the option of prep school in his back pocket should he choose to extend his developmental runway.

Ya’Majesty was in the midst of an excellent summer with Sideline Cancer when it came to an abrupt pause due to a torn meniscus. Instead of heading for college after this season with Warwick, he plans on taking a prep year to make up for lost time from the injury. Washington is electric with the ball in his hands. He has a great feel for getting downhill, either finishing at the rim or with a floater. The skilled guard has a great pull-up jumper and continues to improve on his catch-and-shoot game. Once fully healthy and with an expanded range, Ya’Majesty is going to make noise across the state.

Washington finds ways to stay relevant in all aspects on the game. His length allows him to be a magnet for rebounds and steals. Washington excels in the open floor and zigs and zags his way through defenders to get to pay dirt. He has nice touch around the bucket and can score through congestion. His ability to stop on the dime at spots in the mid-range shows off his dynamic ball skills. Hoping he can add some muscle to his frame in the coming months. Washington is a prospect who low majors should be prioritizing.

The other half of a dynamic Sideline Cancer starting backcourt tandem, Washington has shown himself to be one of the more dynamic scoring guards on the MHC. He’s always flashed the offensive talent as a potent multi-level scorer with playmaking feel, but has turned a corner this spring in terms of consistently parlaying his talent into impactful production against similarly-talented competition. Still maturing in his overall approach, the Lancaster County product has the physical tools that combine with his natural ability to offer an intriguing upside that’s already begun catching the eye of D1 programs throughout the spring.

Coming off a solid junior season in Lancaster County, Washington has really begun to make noise since hitting the grassroots scene again this spring. With Sideline Cancer looking like a heavy contender for a 17U MHC crown, the talented scorer has been a chief reason for that success. A lanky guard with positional size and a well-rounded skillset, he’s looked comfortable and been a regular standout while taking on the type of consistent scholarship-caliber competition he doesn’t see in the winter. It should only be a matter of time before the D1 offers begin to roll in.

Washington showed off his versatility frequently for his Sideline Cancer squad. He scored the basketball in a variety of ways. He can guard multiple positions on the defensive end and his length allows him to cover ground with ease. He has great timing when going up to alter a shot. With his physical tools and athleticism, Washington is a dynamic help defender. His instincts, deflections and blocks seal cracks in the team’s defense and swing the momentum in their favor. More than a one dimensional player, Washington is also an effective slasher who can knock down shots from beyond the arc.
