His size becomes even more valuable because of his ability to handle the ball and attack off the dribble. Shearer has the athleticism to get downhill and create matchup problems against smaller defenders. His versatility allows him to play multiple positions and gives Walton-Verona different ways to use him offensively. That same length and athleticism make him a disruptive defender who can contest shots and get into passing lanes.

Wyatt has shined so far, earning All-Tournament honors at the Bearcat Classic in Cincinnati, Ohio. He’s scored at all three levels and shows versatility as a lefty who can finish at the rim with either hand. He’s found ways to score in a variety of ways as well, whether that’s catch-and-shoot opportunities, using his ball-handling to get downhill, or taking a few dribbles before rising up for a mid-range jumper.

Wyatt Shearer Wyatt Shearer 6'4" | PG/SG Walton-Verona | 2027 State KY played a key role for Walton-Verona this season, helping the Bearcats capture the 8th Region All “A” Classic title and reach the All “A” state semifinals, as well as competing in the 8th Region Tournament. Walton-Verona finished with 17 wins, and Shearer averaged 14 points per game. He earned spots on the 32nd District All-Tournament team, the All-8th Region team, and the All “A” State Tournament team.

After only scoring 13 points in the first half, Walton-Verona used a balanced scoring attack to make a second half comeback to advance in the tournament. Shearer was getting to his spots in the mid-range and rising up for contested pull-up jumpers. Despite being a lefty, Shearer was more comfortable finishing with his right hand at the rim. Icing the game from the foul line, Shearer made sure his team would come out with a victory.
