Cracking the starting lineup at Racine Case will be a challenge for Ortiz as coach Jake Berce has five starters back from a year ago. However, that doesn’t mean Ortiz won’t play a big role for a very good Eagles’ squad this winter. A herky-jerky combination guard with lots of moves, Ortiz can play either guard position so his versatility is a plus. He did play varsity minutes in a reserve role as a sophomore so the speed of the game and the physicality of older players probably won’t bother him as he looks to supply scoring and quickness to the Eagles’ rotation.
