About Trey
Expert Analysis
Victor Scott | Prep Hoops Scout
Player Eval Notes:
- Physical, great build, passes eye test immediately
- Attacks downhill, initiates contact on drives, not afraid to shoot it outside
- Growth in playmaking and polish with ball-handling could unlock even more.

Arguably the best player in attendance, Rhodes is built like a pitbull. Can post up smaller guards on the block. Then is a bowling ball, with big time explosiveness when elevating to finish at the rim on drives. It’d be one thing if he was only a downhill, bully ball guard. But he was also among the better shooters at the camp. Very smooth, gathering and pulling up from deep. Looked to clearly be a D1 caliber guard. Even with the potential to be a lead guard.

Trey was the most consistent player for NCP through the whole event. Not only hitting his typical marks of rebounding and scoring the ball. Trey embraced having to play out of position this weekend with a teammate (post) out. Trey dominated every matchup from an offensive, defensive, and hustle standpoint. If there was a loose ball he was on the floor. If there was a matchup causing us problems, he wanted it. Rhodes is a newer player on his team. In the Open Nationals, he stepped up and showed why he’s the best prospect on the NCP roster.

Rhodes is averaging 15 ppg, 11 rpg, and 2 bpg. He is a freak-of-nature athlete who plays above the rim. Trey is a positionless player who excels down low and on the wing. He does not many many weaknesses, if any its being too unselfish.

Explosive leaper. One of the very best athletes in Georgia. Plays bigger than his size. Can go up and snag rebounds in traffic. Knocks down threes at a high rate. Elevates to finish inside. Posted 12.6 points and 1.1 blocks per game while shooting 57% from deep.

Standing around 6-foot-3, Rhodes is an explosive leaper that plays much bigger than his size. From a standstill, he can erupt up to rip down rebounds. He is a nuisance in the paint and a threat to throw down dunks at all times. The physically strong wing has promise as a 1-5 defender. Rhodes’ transfer from Norcross to Gainesville is a GameChanger.

was on a mission this weekend and separated himself as not only a top underclassmen, but one of the top prospects in the entire camp. Rhodes has an eye-opening wingspan to pair with good athleticism and we saw what he could do above the rim on Sunday. Those tools also come in to play on the glass and the defensive end where Rhodes excels. The scoring package has come a long way and while it was an off shooting day, the confidence and touch looked promising. Rhodes joins Redline teammate

Rhodes showcased at LakePoint Sports on Sunday afternoon that he is certainly on the correct road to basketball success. He is listed at 6-foot-4 and 6A Gainesville will be his hoops home throughout this coming season. Redline was the travel team that he participated in. Being at 6-foot-4, that of course gives a team a height advantage and that is always a worthwhile attribute when a team needs rebounding. He is not afraid to play the game on contact and take his chances at the free throw line. A good deal of his work is done near the rim and he can get emphatic with how he finishes at the cup as well.

Rhodes’ road throughout the 2022 offseason has taken him from his Norcross Heat travel team to the Prep Hoops Freshman Showcase where he displayed a good deal of his 3-point shooting skills. He also has a knack for delivering crafty finishes at the rim and an ability to haul in a good number of rebounds. Rhodes stands at 6-foot-3 and plays primarily in the frontcourt as a three. The Blue Devils boast one of the most respected basketball programs in the state of Georgia on both the boys and girls ends of the spectrum and that will surely continue with standouts like Rhodes wearing Norcross colors.
