Expert Analysis
Eric Wallace | Prep Hoops Scout
Following a strong spring with Boo Williams on Nike’s EYCL circuit, Barnhart made a significant jump in our updated rankings. A skilled shooter and scorer on the wing, he is much more than just a spot up perimeter threat. Barnhart can attack defenders off the bounce, get into the lane, and finish creatively in traffic with touch and body control. He does an excellent job using screens to create separation and consistently makes smart decisions within the flow of the offense, showcasing a high basketball IQ. In addition to his scoring ability, Barnhart can also serve as a secondary ball handler and playmaker, adding versatility to his offensive impact. His blend of shot making, feel for the game, and offensive skill makes him a prospect college coaches should continue to monitor closely this summer.

continues to prove why he’s one of the most dangerous scorers in the state.
Barnhart has built a reputation as a pure bucket-getter. Whether it’s knocking down shots from deep, creating off the bounce, or scoring in transition, he’s capable of putting points on the board in bunches. Defenses know he’s a scoring threat every time he steps on the floor, yet he still finds ways to be productive.
What separates Barnhart from many players his age is his ability to score efficiently from all three levels. His feel for the game and confidence as a shooter make him a difficult matchup, and his production against quality competition has only strengthened his case as one of Virginia’s top guards. His ranking reflects the player he is today, but there’s still room for him to keep climbing.

continues to show why he’s viewed as one of the more dangerous offensive weapons in Virginia’s 2027 class. The
Boo Williams
EYCL guard has developed a reputation as one of the state’s premier shooters, but his game extends well beyond simply knocking down perimeter shots.
At roughly 6-foot-3, Barnhart plays with confidence and understands how to score from all three levels. Defenders have to respect his ability to stretch the floor because he can catch fire quickly, but he also does a good job putting the ball on the deck and attacking closeouts. During one of his stronger outings this live period, he finished with 21 points, five assists, five rebounds, and three steals while shooting 50 percent from the field.
What stands out most is his ability to impact the game without forcing things offensively. He doesn’t need high volume or difficult possessions to put up numbers. He moves well without the basketball, reads defenders effectively, and consistently finds ways to create quality opportunities for himself and others.
Barnhart has already become a recognizable name around Virginia, but weekends like this continue to reinforce why college programs should remain locked in on his progression moving forward.

continues to build a reputation as one of the most natural scorers in the 757. This weekend only added to that. The 6’3” combo guard poured in 21 points per game, doing his damage from everywhere on the floor. Barnhart looked comfortable in every situation. He knocked down shots off the catch. He created space off the bounce. He finished through contact.
What stands out most is his confidence paired with efficiency. He doesn’t force the game—he lets it come to him—and when it does, he capitalizes. His shooting ability is clearly at a high level. He’s proven he can carry a scoring load against strong competition. Already a known name at Kellam, Barnhart looks poised to translate his production to the next level. He will make a big impact.

in person, you understand why he’s must-watch.
He’s been the leading scorer for Kellam. He is legitimately one of the best scorers in the 757 — regardless of class. Barnhart can score from all three levels and does so with creativity and confidence. His handle is elite, allowing him to create space and get to his spots whenever he wants.
What stands out is how comfortable he is operating in isolation or late-clock situations. He can break defenders down, elevate over contests, or get downhill and finish through contact.
He’s also added noticeable strength since last summer, which has made him even more difficult to contain. With his offensive skill set and scoring instincts, he’ll be a priority evaluation for college coaches this travel season.

Barnhart is a highly skilled guard putting together a big scoring season for the Knights. He is a sharp shooter with deep range, can create midrange opportunities off the dribble, and has the ability to get all the way to the rim. The junior changes speeds effectively and is athletic enough to finish above the rim. He recently showcased his scoring upside with a 50-point performance that included nine made three-pointers.

-Looks and has a similiar playstyle to old school Steve Nash as a PG prospect that is always probing the defense to find passing options in the halfcourt. Barnhart’s advanced ball-handling ability allows him to take advantage of great vision in the open floor as a floor general that rarely picks up his dribble and is adept at creating advantage situations for his team. He also possesses enough physicality to mete out some punishment of his own off the bounce and is difficult to bump off his spot on his driving lines to the rim. He can get into his shooting motion pretty quickly off the bounce and showed consistent range out to the three point line on his jumpshot.
