Trent was one of the most complete prospects I watched at the OTR Tipoff and impressed in several ways during SoCal Academy’s crunch time win over Legacy School of Sport Sciences. MacLean has deep range on his 3 pt shot, and with his 6’9 frame, can get it over the top of defenders with ease as well as having the speed and awareness to get to the basket and draw fouls or finish an uncontested layup/dunk. His defensive timing was also very valuable as he knows how to time blocks before they hit the backboard and play passing lanes with great vision. He will be a huge offensive weapon for SoCal Academy this year as they compete during the scholastic season.

is a problem for any team any time he is on the court. The lanky big man uses his quick feet and agility to be a high level shot creator on offense. With a well-trained handle, Trent has shown the ability to create his own shot at will. Defensively he uses his high IQ to be an outstanding on ball and help defender. MacLean will have his choice of D1 schools, as he already has some big schools knocking on his door. The genes clearly run in the family. I’m excited to watch this young man play for years to come.
