Our most recent ranking update came to the class of 2025 which saw us expand the number of ranked prospects from 65 to 100, meaning: Tons of new names to get familiar with. In this piece we take a closer look at the players who saw their stock soar in our latest update.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630649' first='Trent' last='MacLean'], Thousand Oaks, Previous Rank: 36, New Rank: 14

MacLean saw his stock take large bump due to the fact that his skill-set, combined with his size, are prototypical for the four or three spot at the next level. At 6-feet-9 the junior-to-be is a smooth shooting wing off the catch who has deep and consistent range on his three-point shot. The next step in MacLean's game will be to add some weight to his wiry frame to better absorb and finish through contact around the basket and maximize his soft hands and touch around the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630639' first='Jake' last='Hall'], Carlsbad, Previous Rank: 25, New Rank: 16

Hall solidified himself as not only one of the premier scorers in San Diego but also in the entire state. The 6-foot-2 shooting guard averaged 26.4 points per game during his sophomore year, eclipsing his record-setting freshman campaign where he scored 21.6 per contest. What led to Hall jumping nearly 10 spots in the rankings was the fact that he showed steady improvements in just about every category. His 2-point FG percentage went from 59 to 67, his 3's from 35 to 37 and he improved on his rebounds, assists and steals numbers, as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630650' first='Brandon' last='Benjamin'], Mater Dei, Previous Rank: 37, New Rank: 22

It was recently announced that Benjamin transferred from Anaheim Canyon to Mater Dei and landing Benjamin bursts the Monarchs chances of having a bounce-back season in 2023-24. The 6-foot-5 forward, as we've written on this site multiple times, is the premier interior scorer in Orange County and perhaps all of Southern California. The Orange County Player of the Year winner averaged 22.5 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game last season while leading the Comanches to 25 wins. There are few players in the state that have the footwork, touch, creativity and low-block IQ that Benjamin has.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630667' first='Nate' last='Garcia'], Damien, Previous Rank: 54, New Rank: 25

For some, this name will still not be a familiar one as Garcia doesn't garner the same level of hype of some of his other talented classmates, but the 6-foot-10 center - better known as "Big Nate" - put together a highly impressive sophomore season. Garcia dominated inside averaging 21.3 points, 15 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 68 percent from the field. His presence on both ends of the floor helped a young, inexperienced Damien team to a 26-5 overall record.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630644' first='Blake' last='Davidson'], Mater Dei, Previous Rank: 31, New Rank: 25

As the season went on for Mater Dei, Davidson began carving out a bigger role, and thus, earning more and more touches in preparation for him being a major piece for the Monarchs in his junior season. Davidson is a 6-foot-7 forward who has shown inside out scoring ability and made small, but noticeable, jumps in his game over his first two high school seasons.

Our most recent ranking update came to the class of 2025 which saw us expand the number of ranked prospects from 65 to 100, meaning: Tons of new names to get familiar with. In this piece we take a closer look at the players who saw their stock soar in our latest update.
