Expert Analysis

Walker was one of the more impressive all-around prospects of the weekend. He has a high motor, and plays with great energy and emotion. The 6’2″ CG has excellent handles and can score on all 3-levels. He has the ability to create his own shot, but is also a tremendous passer and team first guy. Walker has exceptional leaping ability and is quick off the floor, where he rebounds the ball very well from the guard position.

Walker improved his stock this spring while competing with 1 Family on the PUMA PRO16 circuit, consistently showcasing his blend of size, athleticism, and two way potential. A lead guard with good positional size, he does an excellent job getting downhill, attacking gaps in the defense, and finishing effectively in the paint. Walker uses his athleticism well in the open floor and has become increasingly effective at creating pressure on opposing defenses. His perimeter shooting continues to improve, making him a more complete offensive threat and forcing defenders to respect him at multiple levels. On the defensive end, he is active and engaged, using his size, athleticism, and effort level to disrupt plays and make an impact.

Walker is coming off a promising season, showcasing his ability to find his scoring rhythm early as a young guard. Averaging 6.9 points per game last season, he’s a crafty playmaker with the ball in his hands and has plenty of room to grow physically. Walker’s versatility and court vision make him a problem for defenders, and he’s poised for notable improvement as he matures into his frame.

was a defensive pest early and often. He doesn’t shy away from contact and you can tell he prides himself on his defensive ability. Walker is also a bucket getter. He displayed how easy it was to get paint touches yesterday and finish strong amongst the bigs downlow, sometimes drawing contact and the whistle. If he can keep his shot selection a bit more under control and move the ball around a tad more, he has the makings of a great lead guard.
