Johnson’s a guy you can go to when you need a bucket. That showed for Full Package on Thursday where he got them out of a cold sump with several contested buckets midway through the contest. As that game went on, his playmaking to get guys involved became more relevant in this matchup. That carried over to the Friday matchup I watched where he continued to make plays, particularly in transition.

He made winning plays across the floor, showing the poise to knock down catch-and-shoot threes and the quickness to slip behind defenders for finishes at the rim. He read the defense well, finding open teammates within the flow of the offense, and brought defensive energy that disrupted actions and created turnovers. Another undersized guard who was present on the glass too. Johnson ultimately led the Caxys in scoring with 13 points, making a strong case for an expanded role moving forward.
