Expert Analysis
Kyle Sandy | Prep Hoops Scout
Ted was in foul trouble for much of the game but still managed 10 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks. Neal drilled a turnaround jumper, a mid-range shot from the high post and sank a three to pair with a slam dunk in transition. Neal’s an elite athlete. When he’s able to stay on the floor, he stuffs the stat sheet with his motor and well-rounded attack.

Up from No. 45: Springy wing with easy bounce. Finishes with highlight dunks. Pretty looking three-point shot. Has a quick first step to take his man off the dribble. Makes an impact when crashing the glass.

is off to a hot start this year and we saw more of the strong play from him on Saturday. Neal plays an undersized 5 for Newton but his freaky bounce and tenacity on the glass allow him to thrive in the role. He finished with 16 points against Riverwood including two big put-back dunks. , just oozing with upside. The 6’6 forward out of Newton is extremely versatile, able to bang with the bigs inside and also step out to the perimeter and guard. Neal is long, bouncy, and loves to play above the rim. While he’s a tad bit undersized to play the 4 in college, Neal plays much bigger than 6’6 and could potentially slide to the 3 as well. Neal received his first D1 offer from Cal State Bakersfield back in June.

did this weekend. Neal is an interesting case, playing inside for Newton but he projects as a 3 at the college level with a ton of upside. He’s athletically gifted and plays above the rim, a dangerous lob threat behind the defense. He looked solid operating out of the high post, hit a couple of 15-footers that looked good. Handled it well in the open floor too. Neal’s first offer came from Cal State Bakersfield last week.
