About Taylor

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I pride myself on my defense and hustle. You can teach the fundamentals, but you cannot teach full out defensive intensity and hustle. My coaches always say I have a motor that doesn’t quit and I believe this is my biggest asset to my team on the floor. I am building more confidence every day on the offensive end with my mid-range shot and attacking the basket not only to score, but to create.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am strong mentally and am gaining more every day in my game. Seeing the results from the work helps strengthen my resolve and attitude. I believe that every player struggles just forgetting errors or mistakes made on the court and moving on to the next play, but this is a piece of my game that I am working on daily. No player is perfect, so we just need to focus on next play.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

National Honor Society

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I learned over a year ago after playing through a number of ankle sprains and foot and ankle pain that I have a rare congenital defect in my foot where my ankle and heal bone are attached. With extra training, proper conditioning and strengthening and diligent wear of a special orthotic and ankle brace, I have experienced a full recovery and play multiple sports with no issues.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that has high academic standards and high job placement after college. I place a great value on my academics, but am also looking for a basketball program that values hard work, grit and players that make the team better with their presence on the floor.
