New South St. Paul Coach: Sam Esboldt. Sam did a really nice job coaching St. Paul Humboldt to more wins than anybody expected and now he takes over the Packer job. SSP has had talent for years but they have not been able to put things together chemistry wise. Esboldt did a great job of that at Humboldt, SSP is next up.
Williams averaged 15.3 points and 5.4 rebounds a game for Esboldt at Humboldt last season and hopes to do something similar this year as a senior for the Packers. A great offensive rebounder who also led his team in field goal percentage and foul shooting percentage.
Taurean nearly helped Powerhouse MN
comeback against All Wisconsin. After trailing for just about the entire game, he had a spin move into a tough finish that put his team ahead with under a minute to go. At 6’3 he has a strong frame that helps him play either on the wing or as a small ball four, and he just has a nose for the basket. He’s too quick for most forwards to guard, and can simply overpower most wings around the rim. Easy to see why he put up over 15 points per game as a junior at Humboldt.
