About Sam

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay is pretty good but there is plenty of room for improvement. Im a good post player. I can step out and shoot 15-18 footers and 3’s if needed. Can get to the basket in 3 or less dribbles. I dunk everything and grab boards. Im a good communicator but theirs also room to improve in that area aswell.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is pass first and if needed i will get a basket.I depend more on my defensive side because im long and athletic so its easy to get deflections and blocks.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have received awards for poetry and for devoting my time to the veterans cemetery.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have an extended list of things i have completed for community service. I love helping anytime i can and anywhere. I am a big teamwork guy because 5 is better than 1.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have played in the league championship for 3 years and have won every year, but it wasn’t easy at all. I have so far completed states as far as final 8.

What type of college are you looking for?

Im looking and are interested in any college that has a great education system and will accept me and what major I am interested in. Then I would like for these schools to have a decent basketball program

Mayfield is an active undersized big whose size allows him to eat up space underneath. He does a great job of shagging rebounds and always seems to be in the right spots to gather them. Mayfield finished with 11 points in his teams win over Brooklyn College Academy. He is a sneaky good passer and did a nice job connecting with teammates for scoring chances. I would like to see Mayfield finish better in and around contact he left a ton of points on the board. I liked how Mayfield was able to use his in-between game to score when he needed to. He would be a great pickup for a prep school program or a small college.
