Making the difference in the game with his production throughout the second half, Rodriguez was absolutely critical for the Engineers in a gritty effort to keep his high school career alive. A senior Swiss-army knife, he was effective as a physical scorer around the basket. He consistentkly played for multiple efforts while creating a handful of extra possessions on the offensive glass. Rodriguez was able to put the ball on the deck facing the rim, showed some passing ability out of double teams, and flashed a capable catch-and-shoot stroke out to the arc. He’s the type of low-maintenance utility piece who could make a small-college program happy with his versatile contributions.

Rodriguez’s breakout stretch of play came last March when he contributed 13 points per game during the 4A state tournament. Now this versatile and speedy guard is ready to become a household name. Rodriguez can burn at both guard spots and play on the wing. He possesses tight handles as well as excellent court vision, so Rodriguez excels as a distributor. When he is looking to score Rodriguez will pop threes, get to the rack of the dribble and slash back door for lay-ins.  E&S is out to a 2-0 start this season and Rodriguez is averaging 15.5 ppg. across those wins.
