It wound up coming in a losing effort but Brown made sure to go down swinging in his last high school game, giving Judge absolutely all it could handle. The senior guard got loose for 21 points, showcasing a blend of shotmaking and downhill creation. He knocked down a trio of 3s along with multiple midrange pullups with feathery touch and a smooth high release to get shots off in tight windows. Brown is efficient covering ground with his handle while showing impressive footwork and dexterity as a finisher in the lane. He’s not a pure facilitator but did make some crafty reads in the drive-and-kick game, and never felt as though he was forcing the issue despite staying consistently in attack mode. It was a statement performance for Brown as he continues building his case as a scholarship-level guard.

A valued contributor to Central York’s state title team a couple years ago, Brown has risen up the ranks of the program since then to now be the focal point for the Panthers as a senior. Brown has been the leading scorer throughout the year as the Panthers have gotten out to a 19-2 record, good for the second seed in the district. He’s a high-octane threat off the dribble with a quick first step and aggressive instincts as a finisher at the rim, while also keeping things honest as a dependable shooter from beyond the arc. He sets a tone with his ball pressure on the defensive end and is a consistent spark of energy looking to push the ball in transition. Brown is worth a scholarship-level look as a utility guard and could also boost his stock with a prep year to continue learning the nuances of the lead guard position.

A key supporting contributor dating back to CY’s 2024 state title run, Brown now steps into a marquee role as a senior following the departure of a legendary 2025 class for the Panthers. An energetic two-way guard, he excels as a high-octane downhill threat off the bounce, putting steady pressure on the rim in the halfcourt or transition. He sets an intense tone with in-your-face pressure defense to help force turnovers and spark easy opportunities going the other way. A dependable threat from beyond the arc as well, Brown should have a chance to push toward the scholarship level this winter if he’s able to flourish under the increased spotlight of his new role.

It will be intriguing to watch RBJ this year as he takes the reins of a Central York team that has been winning throughout his career. Although they fell to eventual state runner-up Roman Catholic last year, Central York won the 6A state championship the season before. The statistical leaders of that team are now gone and it will be up to Ryan to lead the Panthers back to prominence. The combo guard can score and facilitate with the best guards in Central PA.

He’s often been an unsung hero, but Brown has been a valuable part of a lot of winning in both his high school and AAU settings in the past couple years. He’ll be stepping into a marquee role for the first time as a senior, showcasing his ability as a scrappy and bursty paint-touch guard capable of generating instant offense when called upon. Brown has excelled in the past as a change-of-pace combo guard, so it will be interesting to see how he looks with more of an increased influence over the offense. He’s shown himself to be a scholarship-level talent, with growth in his increased role as a senior (and potentially in a post-grad year) opening up potential paths to a D1 role.

Brown impressed hitting timely shots for his Sideline Cancer team. He has the ability to be a bunch scorer. If he is in a groove look out it is really hard for him to get out of it. He was able to come up with several steals on the defensive end. Brown also made trips to the foul line. He is a prospect who should see a ton of traction at the small college level.

Towards the end of the 2024-25 high school season proved that he is ready for the role as a No. 1 scoring option. Brown has continued to impress on the spring grassroots circuit with his dribble drive skills that include filthy change of pace / direction moves. Brown uses his quick burst and those moves to blow past his defender and get into the paint for floaters and lay-ins. Additionally, this high IQ and crafty guard is skilled at using his dribbles to create room for step back threes. Brown’s mid-range game is developing into a legitimate weapon too. Despite all his scoring prowess, Brown is willing passer and frequently drops SportsCenter worthy dimes.

Brown did a good job showcasing his skills to play on or off the ball. He is a threat to score from behind the arc and can hit shots to swing the momentum of the game. Brown provides a spark as secondary ball handler and can find teammates for scoring chances of their own. He flys around on both ends of the floor and has the ability to make a play whenever he is near the basketball. He should see a ton of small college suitors tracking his progress throughout the spring and summer.

Brown finds a way to do just a bit of everything. He showed to be active on the glass and did a good job pushing the ball. Brown likes to play up-tempo. He didn’t have the most assists but found ways to keep the ball moving. He also showed flashes as a scorer. Brown added 7 points. One thing I want from Brown in the future is seeing him not rush things into existence. I feel that sometimes his body and mind can go a step faster. He should try to use jump stops more when he is attacking the bucket.
