Carmichael does a really good job navigating to different spots on the floor with his strength of will. He has good touch around the bucket and has an array of different finishes inside. He shows some flashes from behind the arc but could become more efficient from deep. He is able to play at different gears and has a good pulse on the game. Carmichael has no issues finding others for scoring chances.

Carmichael is a do it all guard who has a lot of fun when he is playing the game. He does a good job navigating to different spots downhill. He has good touch around the bucket and has a nice package of layups inside. He showed his ability to make plays for others with his great vision of the floor converting frequently on tough passes. A thing that impressed me about Carmichael is that he is a ball hawk and did a good job of anticipating different situations in the game before they would happen. He has an assertive motor. He came up with steals and applied decent ball pressure. He had 25 points in 3 quarters of work. He found ways to be in good spots to get rebounds. Carmichael showed flashes from behind the arc hitting 3 threes he could become more efficient from deep though.

Carmichael is tireless scorer who thrives when he is able to get downhill. He has shown great promise as an efficient scorer and takes smart shots. Carmichael has a good feel for the game and promise as a facilitator. The game comes naturally to him when in transition and plays at an um-tempo pace. He puts himself in the right spots to get rebounds and steals.

is beginning to attract some mid-major level Division I attention, particularly from Navy. With Carmichael, it is all about his basketball instincts and IQ. He’s also a big-time scorer and shoots it very well from beyond the arc. That said, he isn’t afraid to attack the rim and can finish with both hands. However, what catches the eye of college coaches the most is his way of distributing the ball to his teammates in position to score. Carmichael truly is an exceptional passer, especially in fast break situations. Along with some early DI interest, he is receiving plenty of DII interest from the likes of Nova SE, Gannon, and Edinboro.

Rowan Carmichael is poised to have a big year next season. He is currently excelling with the PK Flash on the AAU circuit and gaining the attention of Division II schools and some interest from Division I. Carmichael is a lights out shooter, especially off the dribble and in iso situations. He is equally as good of a spot up shooter. He averaged 22 points per game last season for Avonworth and I expect him to be in the running for the WPIAL scoring title next season. Beyond scoring, Carmichael possesses a high basketball IQ and top ball handling skills. Defensively, Carmichael is quick and tenacious.

Carmichael averaged 21.3 points per game as a junior last season but really pops as a lead ball handler and playmaker. His vision and playmaking feel is elite, and he creates a lot of easy baskets for his teammates. He doesn’t get sped up and is really accurate as a passer even when throwing outlets or skip passes. Carmichael has a quick first step to break down defenses and is a really talented drive-and-kick passer. He also has deep range as a three-point shooter and a fast release that allows him to get his shot off over length.
