Jay Anderson | Prep Hoops Scout
Pettus has been a name that’s flown under the radar for far too long out of Bessemer City High. He’s a 6-foot guard that nearly averaged a triple-double in his senior season with 24.0 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 8.1 apg and 1.3 bpg as the Yellow Jackets made it to the third round of the NCHSAA State Playoffs. He showed off his ability to get rebounds out of the net and create offense with the likes of

Randall Pettus Randall Pettus 6'2" | PG Bessemer City | 2023 State NC is a name that has blown up over the last twelve months across the Hoop State, but it’s easy to see why when you watch him play. He is so dynamic as a lead guard, both scoring and making plays for teammates. His shiftiness and quickness off the dribble allows him to dominate defenses and get to the rim with ease. When he’s not scoring, he can also thread passes through tight windows and play within himself in order to get his teammates involved. There’s potential for him to improve on the defensive end as well, with his athletic gifts showing opportunity to be a pest for opposing ball handlers. It will be fun to watch him with Darrin Horn and his Northern Kentucky squad next year running the show.
