Expert Analysis
Eric Wallace | Prep Hoops Scout
McGrath had a strong spring with Redline on the UA Rise circuit, continuing to establish himself as one of the more skilled and reliable wings in the state. A smart, strong wing with good positional size, he combines basketball IQ, shot making ability, and versatility to impact the game in many ways. McGrath is a three level scorer who can knock down shots from beyond the arc, operate effectively in the midrange, and finish around the basket. His perimeter shooting is a major strength, as he is a consistent and reliable shot maker with deep range who can stretch defenses and capitalize on scoring opportunities both on and off the ball. McGrath consistently makes smart decisions, plays within the flow of the offense, and finds ways to produce against quality competition.

All schools love a big shooter. Quint has a college-level frame with the shooting stroke to match. McGrath is an expert shooter from the corners. When ran off the line he is tough enough to make plays downhill. Quint can serve as a small-ball forward with his ability to pick-and-pop. College programs are getting involved.

McGrath can flat out shoot the ball. He started Game 1 going 4-4 from behind the arc and finished with 5 triples in Game 1. Quick release and movement off ball which allows him to get his shot off quickly. A player that works on both ends of the floor. Does not need much space to get his shot off and his 6’5 frame allows him to elevate and shoot over his defenders.

came out of Saturday’s event as one of the biggest stockrisers. McGrath offers great size on the wing at 6’5 and shoots the three-ball at a very high clip. He fires with confidence and doesn’t need much space to get his shot off. Around the rim, McGrath used the size to his advantage and converted several tough finishes. Mt. Vernon will be looking to replace a lot of production this year and McGrath’s number could be called upon often.
