Expert Analysis

This prospect played hard on each and every possession. Defended the ball with lateral quickness and his chest, cutting off straight-line drives while getting a strong gauge on his man’s tendencies, leading to steals and stops. He stayed attached at all times, making life difficult at the point of attack. He was everywhere, displaying a highly active motor, constant floor spacing, purposeful cutting, and quick recovery instincts whether he got beat on defense or trapped the ball before sprinting back to his assignment. Padron’s communication on both sides of the ball was phenomenal and at an elite level, not only calling out his positioning and actions developing ahead of time, but also directing teammates on where, when, and how to attack or break their defender down.

is the type of guard every team needs. He plays with consistent energy and competes from the opening tip. Though undersized, he embraces that role by becoming a relentless on-ball defender. Pedro makes it difficult for opposing guards to get to their spots, applies steady ball pressure, and anticipates passing lanes well. His ability to disrupt rhythm defensively often ignites transition opportunities for his team.
Offensively, he plays under control and within the flow. Pedro doesn’t over-handle or force action he processes quickly and makes the right reads. When it’s his time to score, he does so decisively. He can turn the corner and get into the paint, and when defenders collapse, he’s comfortable pulling up in the midrange.
When defenses key in on him, he doesn’t press. Instead, he elevates the possession moving the ball from a good shot to a great shot. His combination of defensive intensity, decision-making, and controlled aggression makes him a steady two-way presence and a catalyst for team momentum.

is exactly that. He plays with poise well beyond his age, controlling tempo, directing traffic, and taking care of the basketball. Padron doesn’t have to be the primary scorer — instead, he elevates the talent around him and puts teammates in spots where they can succeed. His leadership is already visible, and it’s rare to see a young guard embrace responsibility the way he does. When the game gets chaotic, Padron gets calmer. If Del Norte makes noise this season, don’t overlook the fact that everything starts with the ball in his hands.

The young guard from Del Norte applied pressure on both sides of the court. On defense he picked up full court and he was never afraid to go after the opposing teams best guard. He made it really difficult for other teams to bring the ball down the floor and set up an offense. His work on defense led to multiple layups for him and his team. His pull up jump shot was on point throughout the tournament. He located his favorite spots on the floor and created clean looks for himself from those areas.

Padron has been a dawg on both sides of the floor! Defensively, he is never afraid to pick up the opposing guards 94 feet. He’s able to make ball handlers uncomfortable as they bring the rock down the floor which makes it extremely difficult to set up an offense when matching up against Pedro. Offensively he does a great job of pushing the pace down the floor to allow his team to play in transition. He keeps his eyes up as he attacks and uses his amazing court vision to find his open teammates
