Expert Analysis
William Lloyd III | Prep Hoops Scout
Paul was a confident shot creator who showed a polished scoring package throughout the playoffs for Blair. He knocked down multiple threes and continued to score effectively from different areas on the floor. Liked the way Paul consistently attacked the defense to get to his spots and it helped him draw a lot of fouls. Paul showed comfort taking tough shots and was able to convert often. Paul’s performance over the course of the Blair’s MPSSAA run helped him really showcase his scoring prowess and confidence as a guard.

-Ransom’s strong frame really helps him to stand out at both ends of the floor as a physical prospect that can guard multiple spots and get to the rim with relative ease. Ransom started things off with a drive n kick to the strong side shooter, performed a well-timed face cut to the rim from the top of the key, knocked down a C+S 3, threw off his defender’s timing in transition with a long stride step layup, found creases in the defense to burst through to the rim, and hit a pair of big FTs late to put his team up 3.

Paul was instrumental for Team 7 each game. Had a multitude of layups and floaters after getting around his defender with a smooth unpredictable pace. Paul’s work inside the 3pt-line was problematic for everyone who lined across from him. Made great pullup shots, shot floaters over the waiting defender when needed, and was lethal when getting out on the break. Never was sped up by defensive pressure and was decisive and confident in his decisions. Paul even showed well defensively, making some great backside rotations and stopping offensive plays with regularity. One of the more impressive guards of the day.
