is another seasoned veteran on our list with a pocket full of accolades. He has twice been selected as the UP Player of the Year and this year is one of my top picks for UP Mr. Basketball. Iron Mountain is also in District 66 and will look to break free from back-to-back plaguing losses to Menominee in the district finals the previous two seasons. Iron Mountain is deep in most positions and will be tested nightly in the West-PAC Conference.

is one of those kids who has been on a lot of radars for quite a few years. He has countless scouting reports from grassroots tournaments from Milwaukee to Chicago. He really is a player who can do just about anything a coach asks of him on any given night. Since his varsity debut, he has amassed just under 1,400 points and racked up two UP Player of the year accolades in Division 1-3. One of Oskar’s best attributes is he can play or defend any of the five positions on the floor. His turn-around jumper is lethal and he can dunk with authority while being contested. He and his fellow Iron Mountain Mountaineers look to break through the Menominee team, that has plagued them in District 66 for the past couple of seasons. If this District Championship comes down to Iron Mountain vs Menominee, it will most definitely be a game to watch in the UP. Oskar and my next two picks, as of right now, are in a dead heat for UP Mr. Basketball.

Oskar was producing down low for Wisconsin Crusaders on Sunday morning, utilizing his strong 6’6 frame to contribute in a number of ways. Showed some athleticism as he cut hard off the ball, caught, and elevated for a two handed dunk. Was also capable of going to work with his back-to-the-basket, utilizing his footwork and frame to create angles to finish at the rim. Defensively he blocked a handful of shots and was using his height to contribute on the glass.

Kangas should be considered a headline player for the Wisconsin Crusaders. He slides a bit under the radar being from way up north in Michigan, but he consistently shines and stands out during grassroots ball. Kangas can attack inside-out and outside-in and shows a ton of versatility as a forward. He can score with both power and touch.

Lengthy 6’6” F for Crusaders. Really intrigued by his ability to defend on the ball, as he found plenty of success guarding all five positions. He also scored consistently inside while adding a smooth turnaround jumper in the closing minutes. Also showed he can shoot well from deep. 14 points.

Hailing from the remote hometown of Tom Izzo, Kangas is a versatile forward with a big time game. He will be one of top players in the entire Upper Peninsula.
