About Nicolas

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

High Motor, Willing to scrap for the ball, quick, agile and ability to be 1st down the court on both ends. Able to guard all 5 positions. High Point Guard I.Q. due to several years of Point Guard College camps attended.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I feel I have a strong mentality due to my high school seasons. It could have broken but I stayed strong and continued to work to get better even without the proper support system. I have a quiet demeanor at first but open up. On the floor I communicate and assist teammates placement if needed. I celebrate my teammates and their successes, small and large, both on and off the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Jazz Band, Boy Scouts of America (Eagle Scout), National Honor Society, National Society of High School Scholars, National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists, Cross-Country, and Track and Field. Was 17th in State Tapps 5A Cross-Country. 2 Time State Champions in Jazz Band.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My high school career was a challenge. I would be praised and bragged on by staff for practice and game time play but it did not always translate to being included in the best 7 in rotation. I went from 12 - 18 minutes a game for 8 to 2 - 4 and some were down to 0. I learned of politics and favoritism the hard way. I did not break, I kept grinding and took advantage of every minute I was given.

What type of college are you looking for?

Smaller Colleges to help me to continue to develop my game. A school that appreciates athleticism and coachability. Somewhere I can help them win.
