Malisani isn’t the biggest wing/forward at 6-foot-4, but he has some real strength and underrated athleticism. He also has a big motor, can recover well defensively, hustles to get in on plays on both ends, and can be a real factor around the rim. He also has a good presence with the ball to read the floor and make the right play.
Malisani is a shorter post who has a strong frame and can work angles inside to get shots off. He also has a good enough stroke to step out and knock down some shots, and has enough control with his dribble to use his body and move smaller defenders to depth from mid-posts and the perimeter. And he’s also a pretty astute passer from different areas, which allows him to bring some unique versatility from the forward spot.
Malisani has made some big strides physically in the last year and is getting ready to have a big role in his junior season. He’s been primarily an inside presence so far in his high school career but he showed off the tools at the Shootout to be a more well-rounded offensive threat. He was working well off the bounce on the perimeter, showed a good-looking stroke from behind the arc, and showed the assertiveness needed to be one of their top guys.
Previous Rank: 70rnThe Kamiakin forward is a strong kid down low who can play solid basketball on both ends. He can matchup against bigger guys and gets good leverage on both ends, has quick moves and uses his shoulders well to create space for shots. But what really stands out is his effort. He’s a worker on both sides of the ball who continues to steadily improve.
I liked this kid a lot when I saw him over the summer but he looked even better against West Valley (Yakima) last week. He’s 6-foot-4 now, looks quicker but still strong, and showed he can bang inside while he matched up against Parker MillsParkerMills

for a lot of the game. He was already a pretty technically sound player and the physical growth makes him a pretty interesting player to watch as the year goes on.
Previous Rank: WLrnMalisani was a watch list guy at first because he’s a bit undersized in the post, doesn’t provide a lot of athleticism, and hasn’t really stretched the floor as far as I’ve seen. However, he’s made a jump to the rankings because he understands his abilities and has done a great job working on the technical aspects to be a really effective player. He has a big frame and uses his body well to create space for shots, holds position well down low to snag rebounds, and displays good footwork, strength, and ball control to operate out of the block. He plays extremely hard and shows a great mindset on the court.
