Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
Rangey, athletic and versatile player. Defends with high energy on and off the ball. Plays off the ball as a scoring wing or can serve as a primary ball handler. Attacks the rim and finishes off the dribble around bigger defenders using runners and floaters. Greatest offensive strength is the one dribble and two dribble pull-up jump shot. Low volume high percentage 3-point shooter and growing.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I am a tough minded competitor. I am a guard who sets the tone on both ends of the floor. Defensively, I take pride in shutting down my matchup. I use quickness and IQ to force turnovers and disrupt passing lanes. Offensively I play within the flow of our offense and take advantage when opportunities to score are available. I'm am ready for a much bigger role as a sophomore next season.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
My freshman year I chose to focus on academics to get into the flow of high school to try to get a high GPA (3.6). I will be looking for organizations to join moving forward. I play the saxophone in the school band, as well as the jazz band. I won a CEL Award for my leadership in our entrepreneurial program.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
My leadership as grown alot in my one year being apart of the varsity program. Although my role was small as a freshman, I learned to be very vocal, ask quality questions and assist teammates before and after practice. My academic confidence has also grown a lot in just one year at SCH academy.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
My sister has a chronic illness called Sickle Cell disease and it is hard to watch her constantly be in the hospital. Sometimes she misses games and I miss her being in the stands to cheer for me, but she is also why I do not take anything for granted. Being a freshman and coming off the bench and getiing DNP's was hard sometimes, but I learned so much being around so much senior leadership!
What type of college are you looking for?
A good academic school that offers me growth as a student-athlete!
