Muhammad showed off his complete game throughout the weekend. He was very efficient with his shot selection and took whatever the defense gave him. He makes his foul shots at a high clip. He has good shear size at the lead guard spot and uses it to his advantage. Muhammad also has a great pulse on the game and collected a ton of assists. He is a prospect who should see a ton of traction from college programs throughout his career.

-Muhammad, to me, has one of the safest floors in the class as a cerebral point guard that has already proved that he can play with or against grown men in the EPL as the head of the snake for Mt. Zion Prep. He is so fundamentally-solid, always has a pretty good awareness for where he is on the floor but can also create space with his pivots in the halfcourt. He’s also capable of playing off the ball as a knockdown shooter and effective connector on the wings that sees the floor and processes his options pretty quickly on the fly. Want to see him improve his burst with the ball in his hands and get off the floor more quickly to create easier looks for himself at the rim–but I love the foundation of his skillset and believe he is on a consistent upward trajectory as a prospect.

-Love Muhammad’s utility as a point guard prospect that can comfortably play both on or off the ball within his team’s schemes. Muahammad has great feel and understands pace at a young age, especially when weaving through traffic in transition or attacking on side ball screens. His ability to serve as a connector or shooter from the wings only adds value to his long-term projection as a prospect. It shouldn’t be easy to step onto a prep school floor in a league as physical as the EPL as a freshman and look as comfortable at both ends of the floor– but Muhammad made it look pretty effortless.

It’s rare to see a true freshman making any type of impact on the prep scene, let alone for a national title contender, but Muhammad has bucked the trend with his steady contributions off the bench in the MZP backcourt. A well-rounded guard who plays both on and off the ball, he plays with a steely composure that truly belies his age. Muhammad shows to be a reliable shotmaker across situations with a balanced skill level off the bounce and signs of playmaking feel. We’ll get a more extended look at his game among his age group in AAU, but the ability to contribute to winning at a young age in such a cutthroat setting bodes well for Muhammad’s long-term outlook.

-It’s not easy to step onto the floor with prep school basketball players as a freshman and contribute from the jump but Muhammad has done that. A physical point guard prospect that sees the floor well, Muhammad has impressed our scouts early with the pace and patience that he plays with at both ends of the floor despite his youth. His shooting ability allows him to be effective off the ball as well, and he has been finding opportunities to attack closeouts and get to the second layer of the defense with increasing volume as he grows more comfortable with the HS game speed.

-Muhammad came off the bench and showed why we ranked him in our initial top 15 in the 2028 class by performing efficiently in his minutes. He hit his first 5 shots, finished with a 5:1 assist to turnover ratio, and played assertively at both ends against a roster full of prep school players. Muhammad already boasts a pretty strong frame and uses it well to carve out space on drives to the rim. Love the feel that he showed by also being effective off the ball, knocking down shots and shifting the defense with his passes/drives from the second side.

-Muhammad will step right into a role with the MZ Prep team learning behind Jeffrey and other upperclassmen. He enters HS basketball as a strong, stocky guard with a good feel for when to assertively look to score and when to create for others. Defensively he works hard to stay in front and plays with physicality on the ball, but will need to come along quickly on the defensive end navigating screens and taking the right close-out angles to stay on the floor in a tough Elite Prep League.
