Brandon Ramsey | Prep Hoops Scout
One of the top pure point guards in the senior class, Haynes recently announced his commitment to IU-Kokomo. New Palestine came up short in the Class 3A Final Four losing to Crispus Attucks 67-49. However, it was an outstanding senior season to cap off a great career for this floor general. Haynes averaged 11.7 points, 2.5 rebounds, 6.9 assists, and 2.4 steals per game for the Dragons. He also shot an impressive 55-124 (44.4%).

Gizzi gets a lot of the headlines for Prep Hoops Indiana Class 3A #2 New Palestine and understandably so. The Indiana All-Star candidate is averaging 26.0 points per game. However, the Dragons’ point guard is an excellent small college prospect in his own right. Haynes recently became New Palestine’s all-time assist leader and is averaging 12.5 points, 7.8 assists, and 2.4 steals per game as a senior. He is also shooting 40-89 (44.9%) from three-point range.

One of the better pure point guards left on the board in Indiana’s senior class, Haynes controlled the game in the backcourt. He finished with 10 points and 7 assists but had an even bigger impact than that with the way he broke Lawrence North’s pressure and always made the right play. Haynes is an excellent three-point shooter and a high-level passer.
