Expert Analysis
Eric Wallace | Prep Hoops Scout
A high level shot maker, the junior is coming off a strong season in which he averaged nearly 13 points per game while shooting 39% from beyond the arc for the Titans. He consistently spaces the floor and has the ability to make shots both off the catch and off the dribble. A high IQ player, he moves well without the ball, makes sound decisions, and understands how to play within a system. He also brings good foot speed and secondary ball-handling ability, allowing him to create offense when needed. Expect him to draw attention this spring with Dor5 Elite.

Vilmenay is an extremely aggressive shot hunter. I appreciate that he has discovered how to play in a way that suits him during showcase settings. He demonstrated his scoring ability and his commitment to playing hard on every possession. However, he will need to improve his shot selection and utilize his teammates more effectively to reach his full potential as a scoring threat.

Vilmenay stands 5’10” now and 150 lbs but was doing a bit of everything for the Rebels at Session 3. He had a three-quarter length pass to a wide open

after securing a rebound over a much taller defender and pushing the pace, leading the break. Another sequence saw Vilmenay, get a steal and find Delancy again for an open layup as he was sprinting to the rim ahead of the pack. The real highlight of his weekend though was his three-point shooting. Vilmenay hit spot up threes from all over the arc while also mixing in a few off the dribble jumpers as well.

Finally, we have Michael Vilmenay Michael Vilmenay 5'10" | SG True North Classical | 2027 State FL , a 5’10” guard from Miami. Vilmenay is the three point marksman of the group. He does have a bit of a quick trigger, which can be good in some cases but a bit more patience in seeking out his shot may help his numbers improve with more makes in a better rhythm. He has a high release point on his jumper and his shot looks good but he did rush a few attempts over the weekend. Vilmenay got off to a good start in Memphis, and it would not surprise me to see him continue to fall into a better rhythm with his shot as games continue on.
