Brown really impressed me, despite New Town coming up short in the opening game against Tuscarora. Brown took a hard fall midway through the game and tweaked his back, but he toughened out the remainder of the game and continued to be a crucial piece in the close loss. He stands 6’4″-6’5″ with a smooth shooting stroke off the catch from the corners. The southpaw did a nice job of running the lanes with intensity and purpose to put himself in position for lobs. What stood out to be about Brown was his efficient use of his dribbles. If there was a gap to attack, he didn’t waste time. If there wasn’t, the ball didn’t stick with him. He does his due diligence on the glass, can defend multiple positions at the high school level and even spent some possessions getting his team in order as the primary ball-handler in the half court.

-His athleticism and motor stood out in the Dog Eat Dog showcase at the end of the summer. Brown flies around defensively and is capable of guarding 3-5 at the HS level as a physical matchup that understands how to force bad finishing angles around the basket. Brown also showed out with above-the-rim finishing and slashing abilities in transition as optimism for the development of a consistent offensive game at the next level. A plug n play prospect that local D3 colleges should be prioritizing this cycle.

-Brown was the defensive standout of not only his game but in the showcase as his anticipation, length, and leaping ability make him a really potent shot-blocker both on and off the ball (finished with 4 blocks). Brown flashed some perimeter skill with an in n out into the pull-up elbow J midway through the first half while continuing to show a good motor on the glass at both ends of the floor. Really love his attention to detail defensively and willingness to guard 1-5, handling himself well as a post defender as well as on the perimeter.
